Noakhali: 53 for 7 mayor posts

A total of 53 people submitted their nomination papers for mayoral posts, 295 for councillor posts and 74 for women reserved seats in seven municipalities of Noakhai district, reports our correspondent.
Of them, six are taking part in the election race for the mayoral post, 48 for councillor posts and eight for the reserved seats in Noakhali municipality.
Twelve candidates filed nominations for the mayoral post, 54 for councillor posts and 15 for women reserved seats in Chaumohani municipality.
Fifteen people are contesting the election to Senbagh municipality for the mayoral post, 57 for councillor posts and 11 for women reserved seats.
Six people filed nominations for the mayoral post while 37 for councillor posts and 11 for reserved seats in Chatkhil municipality.
In Kabirhat municipality: Two candidates submitted nominations for the mayoral post, 33 for councillor post and 11 for women reserved seats.
Two candidates filed nominations for the mayoral post, 33 for councillor posts and nine for the reserved seats in Bashurhat municipality.
In Hatiya municipality: Seven people to contest for the mayoral post, 33 for councillor posts and nine for the reserved seats.
