Last day of nomination filing today

Today is the last day for submission of nomination papers for the upcoming pourasabha elections in Chittagong and Sylhet divisions.
Scrutiny of the nomination papers would be completed on December 22-23 and the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is January 2. The voting in the two divisions would be held on January 18.
Besides, submission of nomination papers in Dhaka division ended at 5:00pm yesterday.
Earlier, nomination papers for Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna and Barisal divisions were submitted.
Nomination papers would be cancelled for violation of election code of conduct, Chief Election Commissioner Dr ATM Shamsul Huda told reporters earlier.
