4 sued in Satkhira on charge of killing FF
Four alleged collaborators of Pakistani occupation forces have been sued on charges of killing a freedom fighter, looting his house and setting it afire in Tala upazila of the district in 1971.
The accused are Mokbul Hossain, son of Ejahar Ali of Shirashuni village, Sharfuddin, son of Madar Morol of Hatbas village, Abdul Bar Wadud, son of Panchu Molla of Barat Bhaina village in Tala upazila, and Ibrahim Hossain, son of Akbar Ali Molla of Nehal village in Keshabpur upazila, court sources said.
Taslima Begum, wife of martyred freedom fighter Mokam Gazi of Araonpara village in Tala upazila, filed a petition case with the Judicial Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
In the case statement, the complainant said her husband Mokam Gazi came to their house in November 1971 to meet the family members. Hearing the news, the accused with the help of Pakistani army attacked the house on the night of November 15, 1971, looted valuables, and set the house afire.
The collaborators then took Mokam to Tala rajakar camp and killed him the same night, she stated in the case statement.
On September 9, 1971, the local collaborators of the Pakistani occupation forces led by the four accused also looted three other houses belonging to Mafizul Islam, Gafoor and Khaleque of the village and set fire to the houses, Taslima further alleged.
Judge Humayun Kabir took the case into his cognisance and asked the officer-in-charge (OC) of Tala Police Station to accept the petition as first information report (FIR) and file a case against the accused.
