Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi, Uttara Sporting, Agrani Bank, Young Pegasus and North Bengal Cricket Academy won their respective matches on the first day of the First Division Cricket League yesterday.
Favourites Sheikh Jamal (134/10) narrowly managed to beat Bangladesh Boys 124/10) by 10 runs at BKSP. Nayeem Islam took five wickets for 24 runs, but in a losing cause.
Uttara (262-7) thrashed Dhaka Wanderers (129-10)
by 133 runs at the Dhaka University Ground, thanks to a Shanaj Ahmed hundred (108).
Agrani Bank (228-8) defeated Gopibagh Friends Association (108-10) by 120 runs at the City Club Ground. Humayun topscored with 62 for the bankers.
Young Pegasus (162/9) beat Azad Sporting (104/10) by 58 runs while North Bengal Academy (182/8) edged Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Samity (135/7) by 11 runs in duckworth-lewis method.
