BSF returns five Bangladeshis

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) yesterday afternoon handed over to Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) the five Bangladeshi nationals including minor boys they had caught from a border area in Daulatpur upazila of Kushtia district in the morning the same day.
They are Faruk Hossain, 22, son of Saim Uddin, Ashikur Rahman, 10, son of Jamrul Islam, Faruk Ahmed, 11, son of Jalal Uddin, Sumon Hasan, 12, son of Billal Hossain and Forman Ali, 13, son of Akkas Ali of Bhangapara in Daulatpur upazila of the district.
A BSF team from Krishan camp under Hogolbaria Thana in Nadia district of West Bengal picked them up when they were collecting grass near border pillar No-153-7 at about 8:30am, said BDR sources.
Protesting the incident, Subedar Julfiqar Ali, company commander of BDR Pragpur camp in Daulatpur upazila, sent a letter to BSF and asked them to sit in a flag meeting.
At a flag meeting at about 4:00pm, BSF handed over the Bangladeshis to BDR, Subedar Julfiqur Ali said, adding that they were later handed over toa Daulatpur police station.
