One more victim of the Jatrabari chemical factory fire died yesterday in hospital after fighting for his life for 7 days.
Bishu Miah, 25, of Mithapukur upazila in Rangpur, succumbed to his injuries at the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
On October 6, seven people were burnt alive in the devastating fire originated from a boiler explosion at Lily Chemical Company in the area.
Three more victims of the fire died at DMCH on the next two days. With the death of Bishu yesterday, death toll from the incident now rose to 11.
Bishu's body and a donation of Tk 20,000 were handed over to his family members yesterday morning, said Nurul Islam, project implementation officer (PIO) of Tejgaon circle of Dhaka district relief and rehabilitation office.
Earlier, Dhaka's deputy commissioner office announced Tk 20,000 for the families of each victim for their funeral.
