HC judgment on Khaleda's petition today

The High Court (HC) is set today for delivering judgment on the writ petition filed by BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia challenging the government notice asking her to vacate the cantonment residence.
On October 6, an HC bench of Justice Nazmun Ara Sulatana and Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif fixed October 13 (today) for delivering the verdict.
Earlier, the bench held hearing on the petition for 22 working days.
Khaleda's lawyer Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon yesterday told The Daily Star that the HC bench will start delivering verdict this morning.
On May 24 last year, the government issued a final notice asking Khaleda to hand over her cantonment house to the Military Estate Officer by June 30 of that year.
Following a writ petition filed by Khaleda, the HC on May 27 last year stayed the operation of the notice for three months.
The HC bench started final hearing on the writ petition on June 6 this year.
