Oil higher
Oil was higher in Asian trade Monday on expectations the US Federal Reserve would announce new measures to bolster the world's largest economy, analysts said.
New York's main contract, light sweet crude for November delivery, gained 79 cents to 83.45 dollars a barrel.
Brent North Sea crude for November delivery was 59 cents higher at 84.62 dollars.
Last Friday's employment report by the US Labor Department showed the economy shed an unexpected 95,000 non-farm jobs in September, bolstering consensus the Federal Reserve will introduce new easing measures.
