3 Indians among 48 detained in Benapole border
Bangladesh Rifles detained 48 people including three Indians while they were trying to enter Bangladesh illegally through Sadipur border in Benapole yesterday evening.
BDR Nayeb Subedar Liakat Hossain said they raided the area and detained 19 women, 23 men and six children.
The Bangladeshis, all hail from Barisal and Khulna, were returning to the country illegally, said Liakat.
He added the three Indians, hailing from Nadia district of West Bengal, were identified as Bisheswar Roy, Kuthi Rani and Padmanoma Roshan.
The detainees were handed over to Benapole Port Police Station and a case was lodged with it.
