Three victims of Nimtoli inferno-Runa, Ratna and Asma, along with their husbands, met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Gono Bhaban yesterday evening to convey Eid greetings to her.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who had arranged their wedding at Gono Bhaban after the deadly fire of June 3, embraced the three couples with motherly affection and blessed them.
They presented Holy Quran, Jainamaj (prayer mat) and handmade replica of mosque to the prime minister as Eid gifts.
The three girls, who lost their parents in the Nimtoli blaze, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the prime minister for her personal initiative to get them married, paving the way for their family life and building their future.
Before the Eid-ul-Fitr, the prime minister sent Eid gifts to the three couples and other victims of the Nimtoli fire.
Awami League lawmaker Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, Dhaka City Awami League acting president MA Aziz and prime minister's Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad were present.
