Abahani's visa trouble in Bordoloi
Abahani are still waiting for the Indian visas of their foreign recruits for participating in the final round of Bordoloi Trophy that got underway yesterday.
Apart from four Ghanaian recruits and manager Satyajit Das Rupu, all members of Abahani squad landed safely in the Indian state of Assam on Monday.
"The Indian embassy has asked us to appear tomorrow (Tuesday) morning as the clearance papers of four Ghanaian footballers are yet to come to their office, but we hope to leave here Tuesday afternoon after getting the visas," said Abahani football manager Satyajit Das Rupu yesterday.
Rupu also informed that Abahani reached Assam safely on Monday and had practice yesterday and were supposed to watch the match between Assam Regimental Center (ARC) and Assam State Electricity Board (ASEB) later on.
Abahani will begin their campaign taking on the ARC on Thursday before facing ASEB in the last group match on September 11.
Top two teams will qualify for the semifinals.
