Janmashtami today

Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna, will be celebrated in the country today amid festivity and religious fervour.
The day's programmes include worship of Lord Krishna, puja, Geeta Jagna, Kirtan, discussions and peace processions.
The day is a public holiday. Different socio-cultural organisations have chalked out various programmes marking the day.
President Zillur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in separate messages greeted the Hindu community on the occasion.
