Music competition for children in Khagrachhari

Child artistes who have been selected in the first round of the contest.

Ten child artistes have been selected in the first round of a music competition that began on August 25 at the Upazila Complex under Ramgarh in Khagrachhari district.
Hill Star Musical Group, a leading cultural organisation of Khagrachhari, is holding the competition, titled 'Chhotoder Shera Kantho Protijogita-2010'. UNDP-CHDF has financed the programme.
Senior artistes Abul Kashem, Kajol Sarker, Jibon Roaza, Erina Chakma, Amalendu Majumder and Arun Sharma formed the panel of judges, selecting the contestants from the first round.
Kraneure Marma, president of Hill Star Musical Group, said that they have taken this initiative to bring out the talented young artistes from grassroots level of the district. The second round will begin after Eid in the hill town of Khagrachhari.
