Special TV programmes on Nazrul death anniversary

To mark the 34th death anniversary of Kazi Nazrul Islam, different TV channels will air special programmes today. Highlights of some programmes:
Channel i
TV play “Shilpi”
“Shilpi” will be aired on Channel i at 7:50 pm tonight. Geetali Hasan has adapted a Nazrul novel for the play. Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar has directed the drama. The cast includes Arefin Shuvo, Romana, Nowshin and others.
Ferdous Ara's solo performance
As part of her homage to the National Poet, noted Nazrul singer Ferdous Ara will render songs on a musical programme, titled “Mohua Bon-e.” Produced by Shahidul Alam Shachchu, the programme will be aired on Channel i at 9:35 pm tonight.
Boishakhi TV
“Tumi Eley Koi”
“Tumi Eley Koi” will be aired on Boishakhi TV at 8:20 pm tonight. The programme will feature music rendition, recitation and dance. Actress Farhana Mithu will host the show and recite Nazrul poems, while singers Sharmin Shathi Islam and Tanveer Alam Shawjeeb will perform Nazrul Sangeet. Jyoti will present a dance with a Nazrul song rendered by renowned Indian singer Asha Bhosle. Nur Hossain Hira produced the programme.
Talk show “Gobeshona-e Nazrul”
Special talk show “Gobeshona-e Nazrul” will be aired on Boishakhi TV at 10:40 pm. Nazrul exponent Dr. Rafiqul Islam and columnist Syed Abul Maksud will take part in a discussion on Nazrul. Nazrul singer Dr. Lina Taposhi Khan is the host of the programme. Mizan Rahman produced the show.

TV play “Duronto Pothik”
Single-episode TV play “Duronto Pothik” will be aired today at 2:35pm. Golam Sohrab Dodul has written and directed the play. The play is an adaptation of Nazrul's writing with the same title. Veteran actor Aly Zaker along with Amirul Haque Chowdhury and Gazi Apel don the lead roles of the play.
“Bidrohi Bulbul”
“Bidrohi Bulbul” will be aired at 3:45 pm. The programme will feature recitations, renditions and discussion. Nazrul singer Dr. Nashid Kamal will host the programme. Nazrul singers Yakub Ali Khan and Lina Taposhi Khan along with playback singer Nancy will sing Nazrul songs, while Maskur A Sattar Kallol and Shakila Motin Mridula will recite poems on the programme.

Banglavision
TV play “Jin-er Badsha”
“Jin-er Badsha” will be aired at 9:05 pm. Dewan Shamsur Rakib has adapted the play from the Nazrul story with the same title. Ananta Zahid has directed the play.
The story of the play follows a young delinquent Allarakha. He roams around the village and often causes trouble. Allarakha falls for Chanbanu and wants to be with her. But incidences take place that make life difficult for Allarakha and Chanbanu to be together.
The cast includes Rawnak Hasan, Shoshi, Pijush Bandyopadhyay and Saberi Alam.
“Bani Khurodhar”
“Bani Khurodhar” will be aired at 11:25 pm. The programme will feature recitation of selected Nazrul poems by eminent reciters of the country. Bhaswar Bandyopadhyay, Laila Afroz, Shimul Mostafa, Rafiqul Islam, Farah Diba, Naila Tarannum Chowdhury and actor Shirin Bokul will recite on the show.
Robi Shankar Moitri has produced “Bani Khurodhar”. Khandakar Nusrat Nayani will host the programme.
