Ibrahim 'murdered'
Dhaka Medical College morgue in its autopsy report suspected that Awami League activist Ibrahim Ahmed was a victim of homicide.
Morgue sources said the autopsy report was given to police and the report mentioned "homicidal" as the reason for death.
Ibrahim was left at Dhaka Medical College Hospital by some people with a gunshot wound to the head on Friday the 13th.
Later, Awami League lawmaker Nurunnabi Chowdhury Shaon's driver filed an unnatural death case with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station saying Ibrahim was handling Shaon's gun in the lawmaker's car parked near the parliament when it went off and killed him.
Five days after the incident, Ibrahim's family filed a murder case with a Dhaka court accusing Shaon and 15 others.
The Daily Star yesterday contacted Dr Abul Khayer, who conducted the autopsy at DMCH, but he refused to talk about his findings.
Morgue sources said it already handed over the report to Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station.
Officer-in-Charge of the police station Reaz Hossain said they had forwarded the report to the Detective Branch of police, which is investigating the case. He instead asked The Daily Star to ask the DB about the contents of the report.
However, Additional Deputy Commissioner of DB Mohammad Moniruzzaman told The Daily Star that they were yet to receive the report.
