President leaves for London for checkup
President Zillur Rahman left Dhaka for London yesterday morning on a 10-day visit to the United Kingdom during which he will undergo medical checkup at Bupa Cromwell Hospital.
An Emirates flight with the president on board left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10:20am. The President will have a 24-hour stopover in Dubai.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni, British High Commissioner in Dhaka Stephen Evans, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Palestine Ambassador Shaher Mohammed, Cabinet Secretary M Abdul Aziz, and chiefs of the three services were present at the airport.
Bangabhaban sources said Zillur will begin his medical checkup tomorrow (Monday) at Bupa Cromwell Hospital. He may have to visit the hospital several times as per doctors' advice.
