‘Borsha Boron Utshab’ at Dhaka University
Bangladesh Udichi Shilpi Gosthi will arrange a programme to welcome the monsoon at Dhaka University today. Starting from 8 am at Faculty of Fine Arts premises, the programme will feature songs on monsoon, dance performances, recitation and more, says a press release.
Singer Mita Haq, Priyanka Gope, Shuma Roy, Jhuma Khondokar, Shafiul Alam Raja, Sujit Mustafa, among others, will perform songs at the event. Dance performances will be staged by Notoraaj and Nrityanandan. Nibedon, Sursaptak, Bonhishikha and members of Udichi will stage group performances at the programme.
A discussion on the topic 'Borshakathan,' featuring eminent writer Syed Shamsul Haque, will also be a part of the programme, according to the organisers. The programme will be aired live on Desh TV.
Satyen Sen Shilpi Shongstha is also arranging a daylong cultural programme with discussion at Hakim Chattar (adjacent to Central Library) of Dhaka University today.
Renowned Nazrul artiste Salahuddin Ahmed will start the programme at 7 am with a rendition of the Raaga “Mian Ki Malhar.”
The cultural event will feature renditions, recitation and dance. Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University AAMS Arefin Siddique, Director General of Bangla Academy Shamsuzzaman Khan and Secretary General of Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation Jhuna Chowdhury are set to attend the discussion.
Channel i will air the morning session of the programme live while Rtv will telecast the second session.
