Two killed in road accidents
At least two people were killed and 30 others injured in separate road accidents in Narayanganj, Narsingdi and Kishoreganj yesterday.
A correspondent from Narayanganj reports: A businessman was killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Rupshi bus stand area here yesterday.
The victim was identified as Nurul Haque Mir, 45, son of late Samsuddin Mir of Mirbari village under Rupganj upazila.
Officer-in-Charge of Rupganj police station Forkan Sikder said, Nurul was crushed under the wheels of a cement laden-truck while he was crossing the road, leaving him dead on the spot.
A correspondent from Narsingdi adds: At least 30 passengers were injured when a bus plunged into a roadside ditch at Bhatpara under Palash upazila yesterday.
A Mohakhali-bound passenger bus from Bhairab fell into a roadside ditch at Bhatpara resulting as its driver lost his control over the steering.
A correspondent from Kishoreganj says: One person was killed in a road accident at Tarail yesterday. The deceased was identified as Abdul Halim, 40, of Kajla village in Tarail upazila of the district.
The accident took place as three-wheelers collided head-on on Kajla-Chowganga road near Kajla Madrasa in Tarail, leaving Abdul Halim dead on the spot.
