6 winners of Berger art competition receive prizes

Six winners of the 12th Berger Young Painters' Art Competition received prizes at the prize giving ceremony held at Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in the city recently, says a press release.
The winner of the first prize is Sahid Kazi. Other winners are Bishwajit Goswami (2nd), Md Azmal Uddin (3rd), Srijib Bhattacharjee (4th), AKM Jabed Rashel (5th) and Abu Kalam Shamsuddin (6th).
Besides, eminent artist Qayyum Chowdhury was awarded Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his contribution to the field of art.
Receiving the award, he said, "Inspiration always encourages an artist to start anew for another achievement."
In his welcome speech, Masih Ul Karim, managing director of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited, said, "The stepping of the competition into its 12th year proves its significance in the world of art and culture. To encourage the young talents, Berger has been organising this programme every year, and promises to do so in the future."
Qayyum Chowdhury and Masih Ul Karim gave away certificates, prize money and crests to the six winners of the competition.
