Dhaka shares drop for third consecutive day
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed fall for the third consecutive day yesterday amid profit taking.
DSE General Index (DGEN), the benchmark index, dropped 0.80 points or 0.02 percent to close at 2,971 points yesterday while the All Share Price Index (DSI) shed about 8 points or 0.31 percent to close at 2,511 points.
Majority shares incurred losses during the day's trading amid continued downtrend of the market.
Of the total 2191 issues traded, 108 incurred loss, 84 gained and 27 remained unchanged. Total turnover, however, increased to Tk 140 crore as against Tk 125 crore on Wednesday.
Trading at Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) meanwhile closed lower yesterday.
The CSE All Share Price Index decreased by 0.56 percent or 43.09 points to close at 7609.24 points from Wednesday's 7652.33 points.
