Help save a freedom fighter's life
He has dedicated his entire life to singing for the masses, articulating their hopes, despair, rights and protests through his folk songs.
As a valiant freedom fighter, he fought in the front line under Sector 2 during the Liberation War. His cultural movement, which began in 70s, has hitherto been going on.
He stood beside his co-fighters with banners and placards whenever a rightful movement took place in the cultural arena.
All these have made the person a leading cultural organiser who is still involved in the progressive movements with simple qualities.
The person is none but Mahbubul Haider Mohon, a noted folk artiste, a freethinker and president of Kranti Shilpigosthi.
The health of this illustrious person had deteriorated in recent days. He has now been undergoing treatment at a city hospital after suffering from a massive brain haemorrhage on March 27.
Mohon was first admitted to Central Hospital after he had fallen sick and was later shifted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University.
Presently, the freedom fighter is now undergoing treatment at Shamorita Hospital under the supervision of Dr Din Mohammad.
According to doctors, Mohon needs to undergo a surgery immediately, which involves a huge amount of money. But it is not possible for his family to bear the treatment cost.
So, his family and Kranti Shilpigosthi have made a fervent appeal to affluent people of the society to come forward with the financial aid to save this precious life.
