CID gets 3 months more
Criminal Investigation Department yesterday got three more months to submit the probe report in one of the two August 21 grenade attack cases.
Judge ANM Bashir Ullah of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court allocated the time after the investigation officer sought four more months to submit the report of the case filed under the Explosive Substances Act.
Special Police Super of CID Abdul Kahar Akand, also the investigation officer of the case, pleaded for the time saying he could not complete the investigation in due time.
The same court had given CID two more months to submit the probe report on January 4 this year.
On August 3 last year, a Dhaka court ordered the inspector general of police to reinvestigate the cases and submit the investigation reports in two months after identifying the persons who had procured and supplied the grenades used in the carnage of August 21 in 2004.
