BSF mows down 2 Bangladeshis in Benapole
The Border Security Force (BSF) of India gunned down three Bangladeshi cattle traders on Putkhali border in Benapole at dawn yesterday.
The dead are identified as Ripon, 25, son of Altaf Hossain of Putkhali Uttarpara, Alauddin, 35, son of Mohammad Shaheed of the same area, and Ainal, 33, son of Mozammel Haque of Narayanpur village.
BSF members of Angrail camp opened fire on a group of seven to eight cattle traders, who were coming back from India with cattle, at Putkhali playground area -- killing three traders on the spot, said Bangladesh Rifles (BDR).
The other traders, however, managed to escape the hail of bullets.
The BSF men were seen dragging the bodies into the Indian territory after the killing. Relatives of the dead were wailing at the local BDR camp for brining the dead bodies back. BSF did not return the bodies till filing of this report last evening.
