MSC demand explanation

The football committee of Mohammedan Sporting Club plans to ask for an explanation from its coach Maruful Haque for the omission of Nigerian duo Alamu Bukola Olaleken and Emeka Christian in their Bangladesh League's drawn match against Sheikh Russel KC.
"The committee will sit on February 7 and ask for an explanation from the coach for the omission of the foreign recruits," said committee chairman MA Salam yesterday.
The Black and Whites got the first jolt in the third edition of the professional football league on Tuesday when they were held to a goalless draw against Sheikh Russel and thus they slipped from the top position allowing rivals Abahani to stay on top in the 13-team points table.
Maruf sent on both Emeka and Bukola at the start of the second half after keeping them on the bench in the first half and it was learnt that the coach did it because both of them were not attentive during a training session the day before the match.
"I have yet to receive any notice to provide an explanation," said coach Maruf adding that Emeka and Bukola were not match fit. Maruf also stated that inattentiveness during training was also a cause for poor fitness.
