Bangladeshi cultural show in Tokyo
Jasmine Ashraf, wife of Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan Ashraf-ud-Doula, hosted a promotional event with the support of the Asia-Pacific Ladies Friendship Society (ALFS) in Tokyo recently to highlight various aspects of Bangladesh, particularly its culture, tradition and tourist attractions.
Madam Fukuda, wife of Japanese prime minister, attended the programme as the chief guest, says a press release.
The two-hour-long programme featured a cultural show and a video presentation in Japanese language on Bangladesh's history, archeological heritage, tourist resorts and its creative people and their colourful lives.
Ambassador Ashraf-ud-Doula made a presentation on micro-credit and its positive impacts on the socio-economic development of Bangladesh, especially in the field of women empowerment.
In the second part, Bangladeshi artistes presented traditional dance, songs and instrumental music.
At the end of the programme, Madam Fukuda expressed her deep satisfaction over the entire arrangement of the programme and conveyed her desire to visit Bangladesh when an opportunity arises.
