Kishoreganj BNP sues Syed Ashraf, 50 others
Awami League (AL) General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam and 50 other unidentified AL men have been sued on charge of ransacking Kishoreganj Sadar upazila BNP office Sunday night.
Khaled Saifullah Sohel, joint convener of BNP upazila unit, filed the case with Sadar Police Station yesterday.
In the case statement, the complainant stated that AL men, at the instruction of Syed Ashraful Islam, ransacked Sadar upazila BNP office on Sunday night at Kishoreganj Station Road and injured four BNP activists.
Before filing of the case, upazila BNP held a press conference at its office where Saifullah Sohel read out a written statement. He accused Syed Ashraf and local AL leaders and activists of vandalising their party office.
Ruling party men attacked and ransacked Kishoreganj Sadar upazila BNP office alleging that BNP men used abusive language against the AL general secretary during a procession they brought out in the town on Sunday.
According to sources, local BNP men took out the procession to protest 'remarks' against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia by the AL general secretary. At the procession, the BNP activists used abusive language against AL General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam, sources added.
