Prepare list of dedicated leaders

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has asked a joint secretary general of the party to prepare a list of the leaders who were active during the emergency period of the immediate past caretaker government regime, but were not considered for the newly formed central executive committee.
Party sources said the chairperson may accommodate few more leaders in the committee considering their sacrifice for the party during the emergency.
They said some known faces who were beside Secretary General Khandaker Delwar Hossain during the caretaker government regime were surprisingly dropped from the committee which was announced on January 1.
Sources said a number of senior leaders, including standing committee member Goyeshwar Chandra Roy, have already expressed their resentment as many unknown faces got different posts while many active leaders have been dropped without any reason.
Some leaders who were deprived of posts in the committee recently met Khaleda and other senior leaders, added party insiders.
Besides, a group of city leaders on Tuesday met party Secretary General Khandaker Delwar Hossain and requested him to evaluate them during the formation of the Dhaka city committee.
