Beware of fake ad
The education ministry yesterday issued a warning regarding a false advertisement claiming to be recruiting 1,100 teachers and lecturers.
The advertisement, which was published in a national daily, was termed "completely false and fake" by the ministry.
It was published on December 28 on behalf of Nurul Islam, senior assistant secretary of the ministry, under a project titled 'Model school and college implementation project.'
The ministry in its clarification said it did not authorise the advertisement adding that it has no senior assistant secretary of such name.
The advertisement requested a non-refundable Tk 100 as pay order or bank draft from any Pubali Bank branch, along with an application and send it to the box of the newspaper by January 31.
No application from Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education and the education ministry will be granted and applications sent to these two addresses will be considered as cancel.
Talking to The Daily Star, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said, "We have informed the matter to the advertisement manager of the newspaper and general manager of the bank to take necessary steps."
A process is underway to file a general diary in this regard, he said, urging all to be careful about such deceitful activities.
