V-Day tennis

All the seeded players, except for Biplob Ram, won their respective matches of the second round of the Victory Day Tennis Championship 2009 at the National tennis Complex in Ramna yesterday.
Men's top seed Amol Roy got made easy work of Hasibul Haque finishing the match 6-1, 6-2, while second seed Ranjan Ram got rid of Rustam Ali 6-2, 6-2. Third seed Alamgir Hossain beat Anwar Hossain 6-2, 7-5 while fourth seed Dipu Lal beat Tajmul Islam 6-3, 6-4. Eighth seed Biplob Ram was upset by Mizanur Rahman after a tough three-set battle competition that ended 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 in favour of Mizanur.
In the women's department, top seed Disha Islam blanked Tarana Alam 6-0, 6-0. men's quarterfinals and women's semifinals will be held today.
