Separate economic zone soon in Rangpur
Rangpur will soon be declared as a separate industrial and economic zone to attract local and foreign investors, Industries Minister Dilip Borua has said.
“Through setting up this zone the government wants to fulfill its commitment to creating job opportunities for Rangpur people,” the minister said while inaugurating a month-long trade fair on Rangpur Zila School premises on Friday.
Around 133 stalls have been set up in the fair, organised by the Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Tourisim and Civil Aviation Minister GM Quader was the special guest at the function, also addressed by Awami League lawmaker HN Ashiqur Rahman, Rangpur Sadar upazila Chairman Mostafizar Rahman, Rangpur Municipality Mayor Abdur Rouf Manik, Deputy Commissioner of the district BM Enamul Huq and Superintendent of Police Saleh Mohammad Tanvir.
