Saudi expatriate, woman murdered in B'baria
A Saudi expatriate and a woman were murdered in two separate incidents in two upazilas of the district yesterday.
The first incident occurred at Amtoli village of Nabinagar upazila and the second one took place at Ramdannagar village of Akhaura upazila yesterday.
According to police and locals, Md Shahjahan Khan, 42, a Saudi expatriate, was hacked to death in his residence at Amtoli village.
The assailants entered the bedroom of Shahjahan at 3 am while he and his wife Kohinoor, 25, were in deep sleep.
They slit the throat of Shahjahan. Hearing the hue and cry of Kohinoor, neighbours rushed to spot and found Shahjahan's body in a pool of blood.
On information, police visited the spot and sent the body to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
Police also picked up Kohinoor, 25, and her nephew Thauhida, 16, for interrogation.
In another incident, one Taslima Begum, 32, was stabbed to death by a group of unruly youth yesterday.
According to villagers and police, the killing followed it happened following an altercation between two groups of youths over a badminton game at Ramdannagar village on Wednesday.
Centering the dispute, one group led by Rasel, Sihab and Shahadat equipped with lethal weapons attacked the other group in the house of Swapan Mia. As Swapan's wife Taslima Begum, 32, tried to stop the attackers, they stabbed her. She died on the way to the hospital.
