Madrasa edn to be modernised
The government is going to modernise madrasa education and expand technical education, Education Adviser to the Prime Minister Prof Dr Alauddin Ahmed said yesterday.
He added that they are going to take steps to include more issues of national interest in the curriculum of every medium.
He was speaking at the 13th Educational Researches' Conference at the Islamic Development Bank Bhaban in the city.
Bangladesh Forum for Education Development (BAFED) in cooperation with UNESCO organised the conference.
The conference was attended by noted researchers, educationists, policymakers, government officials and representatives from different NGOs working on education.
BAFED Chairman Prof Dr Abu Hamid Latif chaired the programme while UNESCO Representative to Bangladesh and Director Dr Malama Meleisea spoke.
Dr Manzoor Ahmed, Dr Wolfgang Vollmann, former director of UNESCO, Zulfeqar Haider, Mohammod Moninoor Roshid and Abdur Razzak Mia, Mohammad Tariq Ahsan and Dr Selina Akhter presented different papers at the conference.
