Nat'l booters' first practice match today
Shahidur Rahman Shantoo's boys will play their first practice match against Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra at the Bangabandhu National Stadium today as part of their preparations for the next month's Bangabandhu SAFF Championship. The match will kick off at 5pm.
There are two more practice matches scheduled for the national team players as they will take on a BFF XI on November 24 at BKSP and Korean club Ulsan Hyundai on November 26 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
A 20-member final squad is expected to be announced after the last practice match.
Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has given 31 players to Shantoo for the camp after they fired Brazilian coach Edson Silva Dido, who had a 23-member team.
The regional football extravaganza is scheduled for December 4-13 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
Bangladesh have been drawn in Group B along with Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bhutan while Group A consist of holders Maldives, India, Afghanistan and Nepal.
2003 champions Bangla desh will start their campaign by taking on Bhutan in one of the two opening day matches on December 4 at Banga bandhu National Stadium.
Bangladesh's next matches against Pakistan and Sri Lanka will take place on December 6 and December 8 respectively.
BFF announced a 20-member selection for the practice game and they are Zia, Mamun, Mohammad Sujan, Shuvro, Nazrul, Abdullah Parvez, Obaidur, Joy, Sharif, Matiur Munna, Faisal Mahmud, Shakil, Pappu, Alfaz, Tapu, Aminul, Abul, Nasir, Mubarak and Munna.
