2700 Phensidyl bottles seized

Around 2700 bottles of Phensidyl were seized in separate drive in Savar, Munshiganj and Keraniganj yesterday.
UNB from Savar reports: Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) seized 1,329 bottles of Phensidyl from an engine-driven boat at Amin Bazar here yeserday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Rab raided the boat at Turag River and seized the Phensidyl while the drug peddlers were unloading it.
However, none was arrested as the drug peddlers fled away sensing the arrival of the elite force.
The boat along with seized drugs was handed over to local police station.
Another report from Munshiganj adds: Police seized 1,077 bottles of Phensidyl from an engine-driven boat at Katpotti in Munshiganj Sadar upazila yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of police raided the boat, which was anchored at a Ghat in Dhaleshwari River and seized the drugs kept in 11 sacks.
However, none was arrested as the miscreants fled away sensing the presence of law enforcers.
Police said the drugs were brought here from Comilla for sending it to capital.
Meanwhile, Rab members seized 400 bottles of Phensidyl from a trawler at Minot Ferryghat at Dohar in Keraniganj yesterday evening.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Rab raided the trawler in the River Padma at about 7:00pm and seized the contraband cough syrup.
However, none was arrested as the drug peddlers fled away sensing the presence of the law-enforcers.
