Nizami re-elected Jamaat ameer
Matiur Rahman Nizami has been re-elected the ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami for next three years, a party press release said yesterday.
He will take the oath as the ameer in the next meeting of Majlish-e-Sura, the highest policymaking body of the party, on December 7.
Rafiuddin Ahmed, chief election commissioner of the party, will administer the oath.
The election commission held the election process from October 1 to 25 with the direct votes of Rukn from 78 district units and the central unit of the party. On November 1-3, it completed counting votes.
The commission in a meeting yesterday declared Nizami as the elected ameer for the term 2010 to 2012.
