27 more BDR men placed on 3-day remand
A Dhaka court yesterday placed 27 more Jawans of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) on a three-day remand each after they were shown arrested in the BDR mutiny case.
Metropolitan Magistrate Muminul Hasan passed the order after Investigation Officer (IO) Additional Superintendent Abdul Kahar Akond of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) produced them before the court seeking 10-day remand prayer.
In the forwarding report placed before the court, Kahar mentioned that he gathered information from the accused of their alleged involvement with the incidents and they should be shown arrested in the case and to be remanded for interrogation to know about the carnage.
After the hearing, the court granted the petition to show the BDR members arrested in the case and placed them on three-day remand each for interrogation.
The carnage that took place at Bangladesh Rifles headquarters on February 25-26 left a number of BDR high officials, including its director general dead.
