'80pc resources benefit affluent class'
Speakers at a programme of the College of Engineering and Technology (CEAT) said 80 percent allocated resources at tertiary education level are enjoyed by the students from elitist class who constitute 20 percent of the society.
They noted that lower income classes are denied of access to higher education as they can hardly afford the higher costs, says a press release.
The speakers said this at the certificate awarding ceremony of Civil Engineering Department of the College of Engineering and Technology (CEAT) held at IUBAT Conference Hall recently.
Maulana Bhasani University of Science and Technology Vice Chancellor Prof Nurul Islam was present at the programme as the chief guest.
IUBAT Vice Chancellor Prof M Alimullah Miyan presided over the programme which was coordinated by Prof Monirul Islam.
The candidates who participated in an eight-week training on 'Professional Structural Analysis and Design and Design Software-ETABS' were awarded certificates.
