Fake fertiliser seized, trader sentenced

A mobile court yesterday seized 418 bags of spurious fertiliser from the godown of a trader at Kaiyaganj bazar under Gobindagnaj upazila.
The manufacturer of fake fertiliser, Zahedul Islam, was arrested and on the spot sentenced to eight months' imprisonment.
Led by executive magistrate Abdul Kader, the team included Rab-5 men, police and officials of the Agriculture Extension Department.
Later, the seized fertiliser was dumped in the Katakhali River.
