Police arrest 14 Rohingyas for infiltration
Police raided different areas of Ali Kadam upazila early yesterday and arrested 14 more Rohingyas on charge of illegally crossing into Bangladesh territory from Myanmar.
Police said, acting on a tip off, a team raided Pan Bazaar, Para Paling Para, Duckpin Paling Para, Soberer Ghana and Amole Para.
All the arrestees hail from Buchidong under Akiab district of Myanmar, police said. They told police that they crossed the border for getting enlisted as voters in Bangladesh during the on-going voter list updating.
Police said, they were handed over to 15 Rifles Battalion at Naikkhongchhari to push them back to Myanmar.
Earlier on September 28 night, 10 Rohingyas were arrested from different places of the same district. On the following day, after a flag meeting with Nasaka forces, they were pushed back to their country.
