Country advancing under leadership of Hasina
Acting President of Awami League (AL) and Deputy Leader of the Jatiya Sangsad Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury said here yesterday Bangladesh is advancing on the way of democracy under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Despite many threats, Hasina is working for the welfare of the people, she said, adding that miscreants tried to kill her several times but the creator saved her time and again as she thinks for the welfare of the people.
Bangabandhu's dream of 'Sonar Bangla' would be materialised under the leadership of Hasina, Sajeda said while addressing a discussion at Engineers' Institution on the occasion of the 62nd birthday of the party chief.
Awami Jubo League organised the discussion with Acting President of Jubo League Omar Faruque Chowdhury in the chair.
General Secretary of Awami League and LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Syed Ashraful Islam, AL presidium member Fazlul Karim Selim MP, Organising Secretary and State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Jahangir Kabir Nanak, advisers to PM HT Imam and Dr Syed Modasser Ali, Prof Sultana Shafi and Jubo League leaders, including General Secretary of Jubo League and Whip Mirza Azam, also spoke on the occasion.
Syed Ashraf said the history of Hasina is not bowing to anybody. “Bangabandhu's daughter cannot compromise with anybody for power -- there is no scope of thinking this,” he added.
Condemning the ill efforts of those who are spreading that Hasina is a compromising leader, he said digital Bangladesh would be built under her able leadership.
Urging the young generation of the country to come forward to building digital Bangladesh, Nanak said taking a pledge is today's responsibility to carry forward the struggle that Hasina started for reaching democracy to the doorsteps of the people.
