Daring robbery at Fatulla
A daring robbery took place at a house of Purbo Lampara under Fatulla Police Station in the early hours of yesterday.
The robbers looted over Tk 25 lakh, 70 tolas of gold ornaments, eight mobile phones and three digital cameras from the house.
They also stabbed six people who were admitted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).
Police said a gang of 15 to 20 robbers stormed into the house breaking the collapsible gate of the house at around 3:00am and started stabbing the inmates indiscriminately.
The injured were Parimal Sarkar, 45, Khokon Sarkar, 38, Shubho Sarkar, 18, Kajal Sarkar, 48, Rekha Rani, 40, and Parimal's daughter Tanni Sarkar, 16.
A case was filed with Fatulla Police Station in this connection.
Police raided different places of the town and arrested Abdur Rashid from a tea stall near Shibu Market at around 4:45am and recovered a digital camera from him.
Later they arrested one Taher from Lampara.
Officer-in-Charge Jibon Kanti Sarkar said they are trying to arrest other robbers.
