Govt firm to end trial of all political killings: Sajeda
Deputy Leader of the House and acting President of Bangladesh Awami League Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury yesterday said the government is committed to end the trial of all political killings.
He said as per public expectations, the government is working on bringing an end to trial of the killers of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib and others who lost lives in various democratic and anti-autocratic movements.
She made the comments to reporters after placing wreaths at the grave of Shaheed Moizuddin in the Banani graveyard on the 25th anniversary of his killing.
Sajeda Chowdhury said Shaheed Moizuddin was a dedicated Awami League leader and very much affectionate to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib. He always worked for the welfare of the people.
She said people would always remember him for his contribution to the country's democratic movements. She prayed for the peace of his departed soul.
Moizuddin's daughter Meher Afroze Chumki MP, Zahid Ahsan Russel MP, AKM Muzammel Haque MP and mayor of Tongi municipality Azmatullah were present on the occasion.
