No govt money for football in NSC budget
Football has once again been kept out of the government finance when the National Sports Council proposed a budget of Tk 1.76 crore for 32 federations and associations for the 2009-2010 fiscal.
The Bangladesh Football Federation wrote to the sports' regulatory body to sanction them some allocation this time to meet their huge expense as they spend around Tk 10 crore yearly to run all the competitions as well as the office expenditure.
Football and cricket have not been getting any government funding for long and this fiscal is going to be no exception either though the NSC budget is likely to be approved on October 1.
Hockey, shooting, volleyball, handball, athletics and women's sports association are the federations with highest allocations.
