Jubo Dal leader held for drug peddling in Jhalakathi

The police arrested Jhalakati Jubo Dal leader from his house at Kamarpatty in Jhalakathi early yesterday on charges of drug peddling.
Al Maksud alias Collins, joint convener of town Jubo Dal, was arrested following a confessional statement given by another drug peddler Halima Akhtar Dolly, said Abdul Mannan, officer-in-charge of Jhalakati Sadar police station.
Dolly, who was arrested with 26 bottles of Phensidyl early Thursday, told the police that Collins supplied the contraband cough syrup to her.
