Robber held after gunfight

Police arrested a robber after he sustained bullet-injury yesterday in a gunfight at Baradi village in Sadar upazila and recovered arms and ammunition. According to police, a team led by assistant superintendent of police (ASP) Alamgir Hossain cordoned a den at about 3.30: am and asked the robbers to surrender. But the robbers ignored the police call and opened fire. Police retaliated injuring Rezaul Islam, 30. After the gunfight, six bullets were recovered from the spot. Rezaul is an accused in several criminal cases filed with Sadar police station.
