2nd Indo-Bangla Games from Feb 21
The second Indo-Bangla Games will be held in Dhaka from February 22 next year.
Cricket, in the form of Twenty20, has been included to eight disciplines -- athletics, swimming, shooting, football, kabaddi, basketball, volleyball and kho kho.
Two 218-member contingents each from Bangladesh and West Bengal are likely to participate in the five-day meet.
The decision was take at a joint meeting of the games held yesterday at the Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) conference room.
Chaired by BOA secretary general Kutubuddin Ahmed, the meeting was attended by secretary general of Bengal Olympic Association Kamolesh Chatterjee, BOA vice-president Mizanur Rahman, deputy secretary general Ashrafuddin Ahmed, Imtiaz Khan and Ishtiaque Ahmed, Treasurer Monirul Haque, Director and CEO Col Wali Ullah (retd), NSC secretary Aminul Islam and senior assistant secretary of youth ministry Obaidul Haque.
The different events will be held in sporting facilities across Dhaka, including Bangabandhu National Stadium and BKSP. Some of the other venues are Chittagong and Narayanganj.
Best-of-thee matches will decide the winners of football, kabaddi, kho kho, basketball, volleyball and cricket while three men's and three women's team from each side will compete in athletics, swimming and shooting,
The Games will conclude on February 26.
