Nepali student drowns

A Nepali student of Jahurul Islam Medical College in Bajitpur upazila drowned in a lake at the college campus early yesterday.
The deceased Rajan Para Juli, 25, son of Krisna Prashad Para Juli, a Nepali national was a fifth-year student of MBBS of the college and resident of Majedul Islam Hall.
Police said Rajan went missing from his dormitory on Wednesday night. His fellow students spotted his floating body in the lake adjacent to his hall yesterday morning and informed police.
Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Kishoreganj Modern Hospital for an autopsy.
Subrata Kumar Saha, officer in-charge of Bajitpur Police Station quoted the deceased's fellow students as saying that Rajan might have drowned in the lake as he did not know how to swim.
