Myanmar national held with gold bars in Teknaf

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members arrested a Myanmar citizen and seized seven gold bars weighing over 1kg from Naf River in Teknaf upazila yesterday.
The arrestee is Md Nurul Bashar, 30, son of late Petan Ali of Mongdu Bali Bazar in the Arakan state of Myanmar.
Contacted, Tobibur Rahman, havildar of BGB 42 Battalion, said being tipped-off, a BGB patrol team conducted a drive at a boat when it approached near the Sluice Gate-1 in the Naf River around 12:00noon, and arrested Bashar along with the gold bars worth around Tk 40 lakh, Tobibur said.
