Muggers kill trader in Comilla
A trader was stabbed to death by a gang of muggers at Sayedpur village in Burichang upazila on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Masud Rana, 35, son of late Shahadat Ali, a resident of Korpai village of the upazila.
Debashish Biswas, sub-inspector of Devpur Police Camp, said Masud was returning home from Comilla town by a motorcycle at about 9:45 pm.
A few muggers intercepted him in Sayedpur area and tried to take away his valuables.
At one stage, the muggers stabbed Masud indiscriminately as he tried to resist them, leaving him dead on the spot.
'MISSING' MAN FOUND KILLED
Meanwhile, police recovered the body of a young man from Akabpur village of Muradnagar upazila on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Sumon Chandra Banik, 35, son of Sudhir Chandra Banik of the village.
Police and the family members of the deceased said Sumon did not return home after some unidentified people called him out of the house on Saturday night.
Local people spotted the body of Sumon lying beside a bush near the house on Sunday morning and informed police.
Police suspected that criminals strangled the man and gouged out his two eyes.
However, they could not say the reason behind the killing.
