Floral arrangement interpreting the hanging

Fine art is visual art created primarily for aesthetic and intellectual purposes and judged for its beauty and meaningfulness, specifically, paintings, sculptures, drawings, watercolours, graphics, and architecture. Flowers were muse to many an artist for the natural play of colours, for variety of textures, for simplistic beauty, and sometimes as a reminder of a loved one.
Ernst Ludwig Kirchner was born on May 6, 1880 in Aschaffenburg, Bavaria and, encouraged by his parents, began studying architecture at the Dresden Technical High School in 1901. He was a German expressionist painter and printmaker. Floral arrangement is next to the painting. The flowers are arranged in two wooden cases, joined with slim panels. These panels portray the dancers' dainty legs. Ernst Ludwig Kirchner (German, 1880-1938), Six Dancers (Sechs Tanzerinnen), 1911, Oil on canvas

One of the most romanticised, and perhaps rightly so, elements of nature are the wild flowers, and people's attempts at arranging them to enhance the beauty of the originals.

Many great painters like Van Gogh, Picasso, Matisse, Monet, Manet, Camille Pissarro, and O'Keeffe used flowers as subjects, and painters today remain fascinated by the beauty of blooms.

Arranging flowers is also an art form, and a passion for many. Ikebana is a Japanese art of flower arrangement, and very popular among floral designers all over the world.

A unique way of merging the beauty of flowers to that of paintings is to have floral artists interpret art through their arrangements, and I had the pleasure of seeing an exhibition of floral interpretations of some masterworks recently.

Different garden clubs of the city selected some masterpiece collections and did the masterful floral arrangements, to the delight and amazement of visitors.

Daniel Putnam Brinley( 1879-1963) was an American muralist and painter. Floral Design is next to the painting on a heart shaped white and grey vase. The Peony Garden is beautifully interpreted and look as bright as the painting. Daniel Putnam Brinley (American, 1879-1963),The Peony Garden, 1912, Oil on Canvas

This practise can be a very peaceful and serene hobby for some too, just look at your favourites and use flowers to interpret them. You can also try different interpretations of the same picture, many times over!

Here are two of the floral works on masterpiece collections by the different garden clubs which I liked most, along with brief introductions of the artists and their paintings.
